Day 21: Forgiven And Free | Lamp & Lily | Kingdom Creations by Lily
Some of us carry things God has already forgiven. We replay old mistakes and hold on to shame long after we have confessed.
John's words are clear: when we confess, God forgives. Not reluctantly, not partially, but faithfully.
Scripture
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
Faithful and just
God's forgiveness is not based on how badly you feel. It is based on His faithfulness and on the finished work of Jesus. He is just to forgive, because the debt has already been paid.
You do not have to punish yourself for what Christ has already covered.
Purified, not just pardoned
He does more than cancel the record. He purifies. He begins to wash away the patterns, the heaviness, and the shame that clung to you.
Freedom is not only about the past being forgiven. It is about the future being different.
Walking in freedom
Confession is the doorway. Freedom is the path that follows. Bring what you have been hiding into the light, then walk forward without dragging it behind you.
You are forgiven. You are free.
Today's affirmation
I am forgiven and free in Christ.
Today's prayer
Father, thank You for Your faithful forgiveness. Help me release the shame I have been carrying and walk in the freedom You have given me. Amen.
Reflection question
What have you confessed to God but still carry in your heart?
