Day 20: Loved Without Measure | Lamp & Lily | Kingdom Creations by Lily
Most love in this world comes with measurements. We measure how much we give and how much we receive. We wonder if we are too much, or not enough.
God's love does not work that way. It was given before you did anything to deserve it.
Scripture
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
While we were still sinners
Paul does not say Christ died for us once we cleaned up our lives. He says "while we were still sinners." God's love met you at your worst, not your best.
That means there is nothing you can uncover about yourself that will surprise Him or cause Him to withdraw.
Love that was demonstrated
God did not simply say He loved us. He showed it. The cross is the proof you can return to on the days you doubt.
When your heart asks, "Am I really loved?", look at what He has already done.
Living from love
When you know you are loved without measure, you no longer have to earn your place. You can rest, serve, and forgive from fullness instead of fear.
Let that love set the tone for how you speak to yourself today.
Today's affirmation
I am loved without measure by a God who proved His love for me.
Today's prayer
Jesus, thank You for loving me before I ever loved You. Help me live from Your love today instead of trying to earn it. Amen.
Reflection question
Where do you still feel like you have to earn God's love?
