Day 19: His Plans Are Good | Lamp & Lily | Kingdom Creations by Lily
This verse is often quoted on graduation cards, but it was first spoken to people in exile. They were far from home, and God told them to settle in, because the season would be long.
His promise was not that the wait would be short. It was that His plans were good, even there.
Scripture
""For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."" Jeremiah 29:11
Good plans in unexpected places
Sometimes we assume God's plans must look like quick rescue. But His goodness is not limited to the moments we like. He was working in Babylon just as surely as He would work in Jerusalem.
Wherever you are today, you are not outside of His plan.
He knows
Notice the first words: "I know." You may not know how things will turn out. You may not know why a door closed or why a prayer is still unanswered. But He knows.
Trust does not require you to see the whole plan. It requires you to trust the One who holds it.
Hope and a future
God's plans for you include hope, not only for someday, but for today. He is building something in you through this season.
Give Him the pieces that feel unfinished. He is not done.
Today's affirmation
God's plans for me are good, and my future is in His hands.
Today's prayer
Lord, I do not always understand my circumstances, but I trust that Your plans are good. Give me hope for today and peace about tomorrow. Amen.
Reflection question
Where do you need to trust that God's plan is still good?
