Day 13: Joy In The Journey | Lamp & Lily | Kingdom Creations by Lily
We often treat joy as something waiting at the finish line: after the season eases, after the goal is reached, after the answer comes.
But joy is not only a reward for arriving. It can be a companion for the walk.
Today's Scripture
"The joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
Joy as strength, not decoration.
Notice that joy is described as strength. Not a mood, not a personality type, not a reward for having a smooth week.
Joy rooted in God does not require pretending things are easy. It comes from remembering who He is while the situation is still unfinished.
Finding joy in the middle.
Joy in the journey often hides in small places.
The first quiet minutes of the morning.
Work that matters, even when it is tiring.
A message from someone who remembered you
Answered prayers you almost forgot you prayed
Progress that is slow but real.
Naming these does not erase the hard parts. It simply keeps you from missing the good ones.
When joy feels far away
If today feels heavy, you do not need to manufacture cheerfulness. Grief, disappointment, and joy can share the same day.
Start smaller. Thank God for one thing. Ask Him to restore your joy rather than requiring yourself to produce it.
Today's affirmation
Joy is my strength.
Today's prayer
Lord, help me find joy in You, no matter the season. Fill my heart with Your joy. Amen.
Reflection question
What brings you joy in your walk with God? Write three things you are grateful for today, even if they are small.
