Day 10: Called To Shine | Lamp & Lily | Kingdom Creations by Lily
Shining for God rarely feels like standing on a stage. More often it looks like patience in traffic, honesty when it costs something, or a kind word offered to someone who did not expect it. You do not have to be impressive to be a light. You only have to be willing.
Scripture
"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds." Matthew 5:16
Your light is not your performance
Jesus does not ask us to create light. He asks us to let it shine. The source is His, not ours, which means shining is far less about self-improvement than about staying close to Him.
That is freeing. On the days you feel ordinary, tired, or unqualified, you can still reflect His love through a small faithful act.
Where you already shine
Think about the spaces you move through this week: your home, your workplace, your school pickup line, your comment section, your customer messages.
Light in those places often looks like:
- Choosing gentleness when you have the right to be sharp
- Following through on what you promised
- Noticing the person no one else noticed
- Telling the truth kindly
- Encouraging someone without expecting anything back
None of that needs a platform. All of it points to God.
Do not hide it
Sometimes we dim our light because we are afraid of seeming too much, or because someone once made us feel small. Ask God gently whether there is a place you have been hiding.
You can shine without performing. You can be visible without being loud.
Today's affirmation
I am a light in the world.
Today's prayer
Lord, help me shine through my words and actions. Amen.
Reflection question
How can you let your light shine today? Name one person and one specific way you could reflect God's love to them.
