Day 29: Courage For Today | Lamp & Lily | Kingdom Creations by Lily
Sometimes the thing that takes the most courage is simply facing today. Getting out of bed, walking into the appointment, showing up for your family, or trying again after yesterday went wrong.
Psalm 31 ends with a simple encouragement: be strong and take heart.
Scripture
"Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord." Psalm 31:24
Take heart
To take heart is to receive courage, not create it. It is an invitation to pick up the encouragement God is offering you. The psalmist had been through distress and fear, and still he could say, "take heart."
Courage is available to you, even when you do not feel brave.
Enough for today
God often gives courage like He gave manna: enough for today. You may not have the courage you will need next month, and that is okay. You have what you need for this day.
Tomorrow's courage will come tomorrow.
Hope makes you strong
The verse is addressed to "all you who hope in the Lord." Courage and hope are connected. When your hope is in Him, you can face the day without needing to control the outcome.
Take the next step, and let Him carry the rest.
Today's affirmation
God gives me courage for today.
Today's prayer
Lord, give me courage for this day. Help me be strong and take heart, trusting You for what I face right now and leaving tomorrow in Your hands. Amen.
Reflection question
What part of today do you need God's courage for?
