Day 28: Restored In Hope | Lamp & Lily | Kingdom Creations by Lily
Some seasons leave cracks. Loss, disappointment, betrayal, or long illness can leave your heart feeling broken in places you did not know could break.
Peter wrote to believers who were suffering, and he did not pretend their pain was small. Instead, he pointed them to a God who restores.
Scripture
"And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast." 1 Peter 5:10
He himself will restore you
Notice who does the restoring: "he himself." You are not responsible for repairing your own heart. God is personally involved in your healing.
He does not send you a list of instructions. He comes close.
Stronger in the broken places
There is an art of repairing broken pottery with gold, so the cracks become part of its beauty. God's restoration can be like that. He does not simply return you to how you were. He makes you strong, firm, and steadfast.
The places that broke can become places that testify.
Hope for the in-between
Restoration is often a process. You may be in the middle of it now. Hope does not require you to feel healed yet. It trusts that the God of all grace is still at work.
Your story is not over in the broken part.
Today's affirmation
God is restoring me, and my hope is in Him.
Today's prayer
God of all grace, You see the broken places in my heart. Restore me, strengthen me, and make me steadfast in hope. Amen.
Reflection question
What part of your heart are you asking God to restore?
