Day 27: Light Of The World | Lamp & Lily | Kingdom Creations by Lily

A lamp does not make the whole road visible. It lights the next few steps.

Jesus called Himself the light of the world. When we follow Him, we do not always see the whole path, but we are never left in the dark.

Scripture

"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."" John 8:12

Light for dark places

Jesus spoke these words to people who knew darkness well: oppression, uncertainty, sin, and grief. He did not promise that darkness would never exist. He promised that those who follow Him would not walk in it.

Wherever you are today, His light reaches you.

Following the light

The promise is for those who follow. Light is not just something to admire. It is something to walk by. Following Jesus means letting His words guide your choices, your reactions, and your next steps.

When you are unsure, move toward the light you have.

Carrying His light

In Matthew 5:14, Jesus also told His followers, "You are the light of the world." The light we carry is His, reflected through us.

Your kindness, honesty, and hope may be the lamp someone else needs today.

Today's affirmation

Jesus is my light, and I will follow Him.

Today's prayer

Jesus, light of the world, shine on my path today. Help me follow You closely and reflect Your light to the people around me. Amen.

Reflection question

Where do you need Jesus to light your next step?
