Day 23: Faith Over Fear | Lamp & Lily | Kingdom Creations by Lily

Fear is loud. It predicts the worst, replays what-ifs, and tries to convince you that you are on your own.

Isaiah 41:10 answers fear with a string of promises: I am with you. I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you.

Scripture

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

Fear tells a story

Fear usually tells a story about the future that has not happened yet. Faith tells a different story, one rooted in what God has promised and what He has already done.

Choosing faith over fear means deciding which story you will believe today.

Five promises

Read the verse slowly and count the promises. God does not only tell you not to fear. He gives you reasons. His presence, His identity, His strength, His help, and His hand holding you up.

Fear does not stand a chance against that list when you keep it in front of you.

Faith in practice

Faith over fear is not a one-time decision. It is something you choose again each time fear speaks. Name the fear. Then answer it with the promise.

"I am afraid of this." "But You are with me."

Today's affirmation

I choose faith over fear, because God is with me and holds me up.

Today's prayer

God, when fear gets loud, help me remember Your promises. Strengthen me, help me, and hold me up with Your righteous right hand. Amen.

Reflection question

What fear do you need to answer with one of God's promises today?
