Day 22: Be Still And Know | Lamp & Lily | Kingdom Creations by Lily

Psalm 46 is not a quiet psalm. It talks about mountains falling into the sea, waters roaring, and nations in uproar.

Right in the middle of all that noise, God speaks: "Be still, and know that I am God."

Scripture

"He says, "Be still, and know that I am God."" Psalm 46:10

Stillness in the chaos

Stillness is not waiting until life calms down. It is choosing to stop striving while life is still loud. It is letting go of the need to fix, control, and figure everything out before you can rest.

God invites you to be still now, not after the chaos ends.

Know who He is

The second half of the verse matters. Be still, and know. Stillness makes room for knowing. When you stop rushing, you can remember who God is: your refuge, your strength, your ever-present help.

You are not the one holding everything together. He is.

A practice for today

Set a timer for two minutes. Sit quietly. Breathe slowly. Pray the verse in pieces: "Be still. Be still and know. Be still and know that I am God."

Let the words settle your heart before the day speeds up again.

Today's affirmation

I can be still, because God is in control.

Today's prayer

Lord, quiet my racing thoughts. Teach me to be still in Your presence and to know that You are God over every part of my life. Amen.

Reflection question

What would it look like to stop striving for a few minutes today?
