Day 17: Brave In Faith | Lamp & Lily | Kingdom Creations by Lily

Some steps of faith feel exciting. Others make your stomach drop. A new beginning, a hard conversation, a diagnosis, a move, a calling you did not expect.

Moses spoke these words to a people standing at the edge of something unknown. The command to be brave came with a reason: the Lord your God goes with you.

Scripture

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

Brave does not mean unafraid

God does not shame you for feeling fear. He speaks to it. Bravery in Scripture is rarely the absence of fear. It is obedience while the fear is still present.

You can tremble and still take the step. That is what brave faith often looks like.

Courage rests on His presence

The strength of this verse is not in your ability. It is in His promise. He goes with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you.

When you are not sure you can do what is in front of you, you can be sure of who is beside you.

One brave step

Courage grows through practice. Today may not require a giant leap. It may require one honest prayer, one phone call, one yes, or one no.

Take the step in front of you, and trust Him with the next one.

Today's affirmation

I am brave in faith, because the Lord goes with me.

Today's prayer

Father, when I feel afraid, remind me that You go before me and stay beside me. Give me courage to take the next faithful step. Amen.

Reflection question

What is one brave step God may be asking you to take this week?
